My Modeling Page

Let me introduce myself. My name is Ed Hubbart Jr.. I'm 40 years old and live here in Norfok, VA. I've been modeling as a serious hobby (obsession if you will) since the age of 14. I had built some models before then since probably the age of 6 or so, but that's when I officially adopted this hobby. The kit that sparked it all was a model of a B-58 Hustler put out by Monogram. I don't know the scale but the B-58 always fascinated me. It was the first report card of the eighth grade. In six classes, I brought home 5 A's and a C. My mother decided I deserved a reward for this (good incentive for you parents out there). She had previously signed me up for one of those clubs where they send you a different kit every month or two to build varying subject (also a good idea for parents). So, we went off to the toy store and I picked out this kit. I built it in about 4 or 5 hours that night (I still have the thing, mainly for nostalgia). Since then, my collection has grown and shrunk some. It now numbers 561 counting built, unbuilt, and in progress kits.  I build primarily 1/72 scale aircraft, but have also done some1/72 armor, 1/48 scale aircraft, one or two 1/144 aircraft, a car, and several ships (sold all of them off). I also did the model rocketry thing for a few years with my stepbrother, John Stout (before his temper got the best of all our rockets). These pages are a natural step. I hope to include some pictures of past kits (that only exist in the pictures now) as well as continuing updates of my collection. I am a member of IPMS-USA.   In early 1996, I joined the Hungates Military Model Club. Over time, this changed to become IPMS/Hampton Roads Scale Modelers. Thanks.  One note: I build my models for me as I like for fun only.  If you're looking for detailed photographs of really accurate models, you're probably in the wrong place.   Just locate your browser's back button, and go back from whence you came.

A couple years ago, I combined two things that I am passionate about, models and my relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.  I created a Christian Modelers Group on Yahoo to bring these two interests together.  To learn more please click on the link in the name.

The rest of this page, except for the links section, and others following it have been moved to P38Eddie's Model Museum.  Please follow the link provided and visit there often.
