The Beginning of my Die Cast Collection
This page is being created to display pictures of my collection of Matchbox, Corgi, Hot Wheels, Dinky, and etc. die cast vehicles. My primary interest among all this is emergency vehicles, including but not limited to fire engines, police vehicles, ambulances, wreckers, rescue trucks, and so forth. I may also show off others that don't quite fit into this category though. Unlike most of my other toys from my youth, I have kept virtually all of the die cast cars I've obtained over the years except those that fell apart completely. Many of them date back to the 60's and early 70's. My aim (no pun intended here) is to get a disposable 35mm camera (or 2 or 3 or 16...whatever it takes) and begin photographing my collection, cropping the photos as necessary for space restrictions, and publish them on sites similar to this one. Also, please feel free to visit my scale modeling sites. P38 Eddie's Modeling Page Ed
This is a photo taken a while back that shows some of my collection awaiting storage. This picture also appears in one of my modeling pages.
This picture shows the top racks of one of my storage cases. Some of these can also be seen in the picture above.
This picture is of the bottom storage racks.
This shot shows a ladder truck in my closet that won't fit into one of the storage cases.
This shot shows a few vehicles awaiting storage. Some of them are service vehicles, others just acquisitions without a home at present.
These shots will show another storage case I have.
Storage case #3. These are some of the least used, (and often oldest) in my group.
This photo shows a shoebox that I have used for a while to contain vehicles that I have used for various purposes. Also old shoe laces (for pretend fire hoses), plastic figures, an old M*A*S*H* roof and figures, etc. Many of the cars and trucks with numbers on them in magic marker have been used to represent various ALS units (usually civilian vehicles outfitted with radios at city expense for those who are Cardiac Technicians or Paramedics for response to calls. Note Virginia Beach's EMS service is all volunteer.)
