This image was cropped from the classic photo below. It shows Eve Arnold's genious for composition, the dark clouds seem to gather over Marilyn's head and a shadow creeps up behind her. One can see that she is deep in concentration and this is not a staged shot, Marilyn is working. The photographer has to make a hundred decisions in a moment, and take the shot, never knowing if what they see through the lense is what they will capture on film. With Marilyn, Arnold knew she was going to get something great. |
