"The Ramones Leave Home" (1977)
Producers: Tony Bongiovi & T. Erdelyi, Engineer: Ed Stasium

Release in January of 1977, the Ramones rung in the new year with one of the strongest albums of their careers. Songs like "Pinhead," "Shock Treatment," and "Commando" would be staples of their live set for the next 20 years. Other highlights included their great cover version of "California Sun," a 1964 hit by The Rivieras. In one song, "Carbona Not Glue," the band now endorsed sniffing cleaning fluid instead of glue as they had in the first album's "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue." Unfortunately Carbona was a corporate trademark of a cleaning fluid company, so the track was only on the first pressing of the album. It was replaced on later US versions by "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker," and in the UK with "Babysitter" (which later showed up in the US as the B-side of the "Do You Wanna Dance" single).
