A Letter To The NBA League Offices

I Sent This Letter To The NBA League Offices Through NBA.com Ten Times And Told Them In Every Letter How Many Times I Sent The Letter:

How do Rod Thorn and David Stern get away with this? How can Rod Thorn suspend Charlie Ward for being bodyslammed by P.J. Brown, Allan Houston, John Starks, and Larry Johnson for breaking up a fight, and Patrick Ewing for standing ten feet from the bench at center court while he does not suspend Shawn Kemp the next day for punching Kevin Willis in the back of the head? Why do they get away with throwing the book at the Knicks while they barely slap the wrists of everyone else? When did punching someone in the back of the head become a minor altercation and when did being a peacemaker and breaking up an altercation where no punches were thrown become a crime where you would be fined and suspended? I sent a letter yesterday concerning this and all I got back was a letter telling me that my letter wasn't responded to. I want an answer to my questions!

Here Is The Response I Received Ten Times:

Great "Quality Of Service", Eh?

Two Days Later I Received This Letter From NBA.Com:

Thank you for contacting the National Basketball Association through
NBA.com.

In recent years, players who have engaged in excessively rough play and fighting have been fined and/or suspended for their unacceptable behavior.

According to the Official NBA Rules, any player who leaves the bench area during a fight, will be automatically fined and suspended one game, regardless if the player was participating or attempting to break-up the altercation.

All fines and suspensions are determined on a per-case basis. Money collected from fines is donated to various charitable organizations.

In continuing with NBA policy, Miami Heat forward P.J. Brown and New York Knicks guard Charlie Ward were suspended two games and one game, respectively, and fined for an altercation on May 14. In addition, the NBA has also fined and suspended four other New York Knicks players one game for leaving the bench area.

We feel the necessary disciplinary action was taken and are continuing to examine the most effective measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to write and express your opinion to the NBA.

How Come They Don't Mention Anything About Shawn Kemp's Punch? Where Is Their Explanation For Not Suspending Him For Doing Something Much Worse Than Being Bodyslammed Or Getting Off Of The Bench? Do They Think That We Are Stupid Enough To Buy This Explanation When No Explanation Was Given For Shawn Kemp?
