Vents, Ramblings, Writings
Welcome to Phil Mann's Page
In the pages that follow, you will find a variety of my writings. Some are strange, while others are bizarre. So you can see there's quite an assortment. That is I in the photo above, though in person I'm almost always less blurry (except on Mondays, but that's only to be expected). I welcome e-mail, so feel free to drop me a line.

CONTENTS
*PAGE ONE*
A strange story about a man who only wanted toast with marmalade but ended up with a strange adventure.
*PAGE TWO*
A mystery featuring mathematician Horace Masters, who tries to explain how a letter vanished when nobody seemed able to take it. (Updated 1/7/99.)
*PAGE THREE*
Guest professor Dr. Henry Thinklethwait (see page nine) delivers a lecture on one of the most famous soliloquies ever, Hamlet's "To be, or not to be."
*PAGE FOUR*
It was one of those weeks when I got just about all of the worst sort of E-mail possible. So I wrote about it, though I just may have revealed too much. . .
*PAGE FIVE*
On this page, you will find descriptions of my novels and links to their first chapters. These novels are, as yet, unpublished.
*PAGE SIX*
I got tired of reading all the chain letters and netmyths that people kept sending me, especially since so many of them were patently false. So I wrote my own. At least, though, I included a code to prove mine is false. You might find it in the first letter of each paragraph. This effort has been included in three different joke mailing lists, so it might seem familiar to some.
*PAGE SEVEN*
Ever wonder what happens to the socks that go into the washing machine and never return? So did someone else, and I tried to provide the answer.
*PAGE EIGHT*
In an effort to promote the general welfare by making shows like Law & Order more comprehensible to the general public, I submit my guide to the terms lawyers use in objections. As an added bonus, this page loads very quickly!
*PAGE NINE*
This page contains reviews originally posted to the DorothyL mailing list. These reviews are gentle parodies of topics then hot on the list. DorothyL is a mailing list, an online discussion group, for mystery readers and authors.
*PAGE TEN*
What's the meaning of life? Apparently, it has a great deal to do with talk shows.
*BOOKS AND MORE*
This page includes selections of some of my favorite books, films, and music, all of which can be ordered through Amazon.com. Or feel free just to browse and question my taste.
