"Angelia"
Angelia is a 17 year old gray arab mare. She was ridden into an auction ring in Illinois, foundered, severely emaciated and scarred and bruised all over. I purchased her from the killer buyer, knowing it would likely be a mercy case. She has been at KARE for two weeks, and her founder has steadily gotten worse. The worst part about it is she has a great attitude, a tremendous appetite, and all things look great if not for her poor hooves. X-rays this evening showed that her coffin bone is pushing through the sole of her hoof, and she will be humanely euthanized tomorrow afternoon. If only the people who had used her her whole life could've been so kind as to give her relief from her pain peacefully instead of shipping her off to slaughter. :o( Dear Angelia, please know that we are NOT all bad people, and as bad as I want to keep you alive for selfish reasons, I will give you what you need more, a dignified, peaceful and humane end to your suffering. I will see you at the Rainbow Bridge, with four perfect hooves and even a fat little belly. :o)
