"Seasons of Love"
by Diana Louise Player
What makes love bloom
like flowers in spring,
as tulips meet the morning dew?
Life beams with fresh and lasting joy.
each moment more radiant as love grows.
Summer...a time to share our dreams,
our fears, with hours of endless days.
Then fall ensues without invite,
as sure as air we breathe.
To all who see the outward scene,
'tis not a brilliant green..
But grays and browns and darker shades
are scattered and observed.
And just as seasons come and go,
our love can do the same.
The barren trees, the sky is dim,
and nature sleeps once more.
To have a love, to lose a love,
a part of heaven's plan.
We see the wonders of this life,
but still it is unknown.
Just how the springtime comes again,
with seeds the breeze has sown.
'Tis only with a patient heart,
a gracious flower is grown.
