1/9/00 07:15-09:00 - Philmont Ave. & Woodland Rd., Lower Moreland, for an accident, enroute 2 medic units added (M353-4, Bucks M114), 355-1 and M353-8 also responded. 2 vehicle head-on accident, 1 trapped, 4 total injuries (3 traumas). Rescue Co. removed door/roof area, did front-end push. AMH advised they could take 2 traumas, and to fly the other. Set up LZ at Ridgeway Park. 355-1 to AMH cl. 3, 355-2/M353-8 to AMH cl. 2 trauma, M114 to AMH cl. 2 trauma, M353-4 to LZ, Medevac 3 to Hahnemann cl. 2 trauma. A355-1/A355-2/SS11
1/24/00 09:07-11:11 - Benade Hall, 2815 Benade Circle, Bryn Athyn, for a hazmat with Sta. 8, Bucks 2, E10, SS10. Formaldehyde spill in a closet in a lab on the 4th floor. Units isolated the 4th floor, ventilated area, and hazmat personnel cleaned the spill. EMS handled 2 other calls during this incident. E11/SS11/A355-1/A355-2
1/25/00 10:27-12:01 - 22 James Road, Hatboro, as FAST on a house fire w/Sta. 95, 10, Bucks 90 several additional units special-called. Stood fast until fire under control, then joined manpower pool and filled bottles. SS11
4/16/00 17:50-22:00 - 3357 Pine Rd., Lower Moreland, for house fire w/entrapment. Room and contents fire w/elderly male trapped inside. E8 1st in, E11 dropped 5" from hydrant backing up 8's crew. Crews rescued victim, who had 2nd degree burns and was in cardiac arrest, and extinguished the fire w/handlines. CPR initiated, transferred to A355-2 to AMH w/M353A. Pt's wife w/smoke inhalation transported by A355-1/M353-4 to AMH. M353B stood by scene. A355-1 later transported neighbor w/hand lacerations (tried to break window of home during rescue attempt) to HRH. 4/27/00 09:50-13:20 - Philmont & Manor Rds., Lower Moreland, reported vehicle fire for E11-1 w/Sta. 8. Pickup truck on its side on fire, containing pesticides. E11-1 first arriving stretched dual 1 3/4" lines. Fire contained to engine compartment area, but pesticides leaking from rear of vehicle. Diking efforts begun, Hazmat 19 called to assist. 5/27/00 14:13 - Philmont & Huntingdon Pike, Lower Moreland, for an accident. A355-1 on 1530 scene requesting medic and rescue co. T-bone, 2 pts., 1 trapped. SS11 secured car and began forcing door PTA of R8. E11-1 added for manpower. R8 forced door. A355-1 to AMH Cl. 2, M353-4 to AMH Cl. 1. A355-1/SS11/E11-1
6/10/00 10:43-11:31 - 3860 Sheffield Dr., Lower Moreland, to assist 8 reported deck on fire. BBQ and propane tank well involved spreading to deck. E11-1 first arriving stretched 1 3/4" controlling fire and attempted to shut off propane valve - inoperable. Tank moved to yard under water curtain to allow tank to vent. E8 & E8-2 provided water supply and manpower to backup E11-1. EMS on another call. E11-1/SS11
6/14/00 14:53-17:25 - Elkins Field, 2200 Block Huntingdon Pike, Lower Moreland, for Amb & Eng w/ Sta. 8 for rescue - man stuck in porta-potty. Man jammed into potty opening at the waist level. Unable to remove victim in traditional manner, had to cut plastic w/air chisel, removing victim and part of seat area. E11 stretched line to decon victim and crew. Transported to AMH where remaining plastic was removed in ER. E11/A355-2
6/18/00 20:01-23:00 - 2905 Cherry La., Bryn Athyn, for vehicle leaking fuel. Car leaking steadily on driveway sloped down into garage. Crews quickly diked flow to prevent gas from entering garage. Unable to stop leak. 1 3/4" line pulled for standby. Home checked for fumes and resident on home O2 evacuated to ambulance. E8/R8 special-called for manpower and equipment. Fuel/oil dry contained and bagged for p/u by J & J spill. E11/E11-1/SS11/A355-2
6/28/00 09:49-11:04 - 1360 Dogwood La., Lower Moreland, for gas leak outside w/Sta. 8. Backhoe struck line, large leak. E11/SS11 handling alarm w/smoke condition on Philmont Ave. Police/contractors evacuating area/residences. E11-1 laid 5" from hydrant into cul-de-sac and set up deck gun uncharged to cover exposures. Units stood by until PECO shut gas down. E11/E11-1/A355-2
6/28/00 16:13-17:20 - Philmont Ave./Huntingdon Pike, Lower Moreland, for an accident, immediately upgraded to extrication - car into pole w/Sta. 8, M353A. SS11 getting fuel - witnessed accident. Crews used extinguishers to extinguish small fire in engine compartment and cribbed vehicle PTA of engine/rescue company. E11 pulled protection line while R8 removed door, pushed dash, and partially removed roof. 68 YOF to AMH cl. 2 multi-trauma via A355-2/M353A. E11/SS11/A355-2
7/30/00 18:30-20:30 - 1077 Wright Dr., Lower Moreland, during severe thunderstorm for house fire. Diverted from another house struck by lightning call that 8's handled. W/8, Bucks L2, E9, R9. Chief 11 first arriving found fire through the roof. E11 first arriving engine hit hydrant across from fire building, stretched 3" to front door, broken down to 1 3/4" high-rise pack. Roof laddered. Bulk of fire found in hidden spaces along roofline @ front of house. Crews assisted w/ventilation, overhaul, etc. Good stop by E11 on scene alone for several minutes in heavy rainstorm. 8/12/00 01:22-04:55 - 656 Knowles Ave., Upper South, originally disp to cover E2. As responding, advised to respond to the call to fill out the first alarm - 4th in engine. Fire through the roof of 3 story commercial/residential. Assigned to lay from 2nd St Pike & Knowles Ave to supply ladder pipe operations. Layed dual 5" lines to L1, bldg. was evacuated, 2nd alarm struck (E11-1 due). L1 knocked bulk of fire down supplied by E11. Crews operated hand lines, and performed overhaul. E11-1 pumped E11's hydrant. Held to 2 alarms. SS11 on DUI checkpoint detail during this incident. E9-1 covered Sta. 11. E11/E11-1
9/24/00 18:03-19:20 - 379 Juniper St., Warminster, SS11 to assist Bucks 90, 2 at a trench rescue. Man stuck in trench up to waist, special-called for heater/ventilator unit and to support R2 tactical rescue unit with power/lighting. Victim extricated approx. 17 minutes after arrival. SS11
