Special Service 11 - 1994 Freightliner / PL / Rescue 1  (14' Body)

Fire and EMS Support Services. Includes: 20kw PTO generator, two 1500 watt portable lights with tripod stands, four smaller 500 watt lights, and 20’ 6000 watt Will-Burt light tower. It also has Ventilation Fans (electric suitable for hazardous environments and 24" gasoline powered PPV), Ventilator/Heater for venting confined spaces and provides warm air for entrapped victims (w/25’ duct), Little Giant (Ladder), Command Post Equipment and Workstation w/cell phone hookup, ISI Vision 2 handheld Thermal Imaging Camera w/wireless remote video, and AC/DC TV/VCR fixed in vehicle or mobile, Stihl Circular Rescue Saw - primary setup w/metal cutting blade, LEL/O2 and CO meters, shovels, triage/mass casualty tarps/tags/medical equipment, HazMat library, Hazmat Operational level equipment (diking materials, decon equipment, Class D extinguisher, hazmat identification kit), Radiation Emergency Equipment, Basic Life Support Responder Equipment/Automatic External Defibrillator (A.E.D.), Stokes Basket, cribbing, a F.A.S.T. section, a 250 foot cord on the drivers side and a 150 foot cord on the officers side with two 120 volt plugs and two 240 volt plugs on each, 4 bottle 6000 psi Cascade System.  It has lots of other equipment. It seats: Driver, Officer (Has an airpack), 3 airpack qualified personnel. The Bryn Athyn Fire Company averages 240 fire runs, and 930 EMS runs annually. SS11 runs approximately 200 of these incidents.

Engine 11 - 1989 Duplex / Quality Pumper

Includes: 26' extension ladder, a 10' roof ladder, and an 8' folding ladder on its left side and on its right there is a 35' extension ladder and a 14' roof ladder, chain saw, prepiped deckgun.  It has a 500 gallon tank w/ a 1500 GPM pump.  It has 600' of 1 3/4", 400' of 2", 150' of 2 1/2", 400' of 3" and 2800' of 5" hose.  Equipped with AED, oxygen & some BLS equipment.  It seats: Driver, Officer, 6 airpack qualified personnel and 2 non-airpack qualified personnel.

Engine 11-1 - 1978 Hahn Pumper

Includes: 14' roof ladder, a 35' extension and an 8' folding ladder, prepiped and portable deck gun.  It has a 750 gallon tank w/ a 1250 GPM pump.  It has 400' of 1", 600' of 1 3/4", 400' of 2", 400' of 3" and 1500' of 5" hose.  It has two top rotating beacons, two red mars lights, a white mars light, and two (two lights in each) rear lights).  It has two 1500 watt adjustable flood lights on each side.   Equipped with AED, oxygen & some BLS equipment.  It seats: Driver, Officer, 2 air-pack qualified personnel, 2 non-airpack qualified personnel, 3 if needed.

Our truck committee, which meets monthly, is currently narrowing down what things we would like on our new truck, which we hope to take delivery from in 2001/2002.  Final specifications will be developed over the next several months, but early plans are for the new truck to include: Custom construction w/ a single rear axle, 400+ Horsepower diesel, 1200-1500ft/lb torque, Automatic or combination manual/automatic transmission, Anti-lock brakes, air-conditioned, split-tilt cab with raised roof, 1500 GPM two-stage pump, Compressed Air Foam System (CAFS), 1000 gallon tank, foam tank size depending on type of foam used, Capacity for 7-8 firefighters, Capacity for 1200' LDH plus several 2-1/2" or 3" supply/blitz lines, deck gun, 4 crosslay preconnects, 4 panel discharges, maybe front/rear discharges, Comparable complement of ladders, tools, SCBA, etc. - 2 long extension ladders.  Vehicle will NOT include: Generator or an Air cascade.  We have been looking at Demo apparatus from many top manufacturers.

Special Service 11 is due for a complete face lift within the upcoming months.  More info and possible blue prints / CAD drawing to come.
