Brazil is a country of continental proportions. Its area of over 3,27 million Sq miles (8,5million Sq Km) is larger than the continental United States, making of Brazil the 5th largest country on Earth. The Brazilian economy is placed as the world's 8th largest, generating a GNP of over 1 Trillion Dollars a year. Since Brazil was colonized by Portugal for over 300 years, the country's oficial language is PORTUGUESE, which belongs to the LATIN family of Languages. Latin was originated in the province of LACIO(Pronounced LATIO), where Rome is located, from there it spread out throughout Europe evolving into different dialects that now are what we call Latin Languages, including; Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, French, and Spanish.

The Brazilian territotty is devided in several different regions they are:
OUTSTANDING BAHIA-BRAZIL (Nordeste) - Info on Bahia State: Salvador city (3 million) 450 year old metropolis filled with tropical paradises, and hundreds of ancient buildings including 365 churches, forts, monasteries, old lighthouses, palaces, etc...BAHIA IS A MUST GO!
SAO PAULO-MEGALOPOLIS (Sudeste) -Info on Sao Paulo State (35 million) and Sao Paulo City (SAMPA) and its 20 million inhabitants. Sao Paulo is Brazil's largest and most important city, its skyscraper lined landscape, extremely active nightlife, along with its cosmopolitan athmosphere, can only be compared to New York City's. Sao Paulo is currently the world's 2nd largest metropolis. Come see pictures of this wonderful place, and of the European towns within Sao Paulo State.
