This excellent centre cockpit cruising yacht with auxilliary power by a smooth and economic Newage Captain 35hp four cylinder diesel is ready to take you and a total of up to seven crew either pottering locally or cruising in comfort.
Owned by Ian & Ann Birks since 1991, she has been maintained and upgraded rather than refurbished and has been carefully used as the gloss on the original gel-coat shows. It is rare for the engine to have reached a service interval in any season of our ownership and the engine had a full strip down inspection shortly before that with no work required at a Volvo agency. All sailing has been in local Hebridean waters. Major upgrades since the above photograph include replacement sails, Autohelm 3000 autopilot and Raytheon R20X radar.
After thirty three years of owning cruising yachts creaking bones suggest we might try other activities despite having side screens for the wheelhouse and a comforting Taylor's diesel fuelled 2.5kw cabin heater.
We have not had her surveyed since 1994, but that was a good survey and no significant defects have been allowed to develop. After the survey was carried out a preventative anti-osmosis system by Bondaglas-Voss was applied and no problems were noted at survey or since. The yacht has always been wintered ashore.
