Federal Express workers:  UNION WEBSITES lists
pro-Union FDX employee internet websites

UNION WEBSITES was last updated on October 9, 2000

UNION WEBSITES lists their titles, URL addresses, and brief descriptions.  It is designed for easy and widespread distribution.  The list itself can be printed out on no more than two 8 1/2 by 11 inch pages, and this cover page can be attached as an introduction.  If you wish to list a pro-Union FDX website we don't know about, or need to make a listing correction, send Email to:  BobKutchko@aol.com

How to use UNION WEBSITES

You can accelerate the unionization process at FDX by spreading the word about these internet websites.  Help give hope and motivation to hourly employees concerned and frustrated about:  substandard pay, pension, and benefits;  speed-up, health, and safety issues;  and negligible rights on the job.  Tell co-workers that FedEx pilots now possess the first signed Union contract in the company's 25-year history.  Let them know that many thousands of FedEx workers have signed Union authorization cards, including couriers, tractor trailer drivers, and mechanics.  If not for the undemocratic Railway Labor Act, FedEx workers in major cities such as Chicago, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, Atlanta, St. Louis, and Kansas City would most likely have won union elections by now.  Stations in less urban areas around the country have also registered substantial Union interest.  And there is growing Union activity at RPS/FedEx Ground as well.

Before distributing UNION WEBSITES or any other pro-Union materials, PLEASE LEARN & OBSERVE your legal organizing rights so as to minimize the chance of managerial victimization.  For an in-depth discussion about your organizing rights, and legal rights flyers, visit:

Here is a brief summary of your legal organizing rights and recommendations concerning flyer distribution, authorization card collection, and Union activities in general:

  • you can pass out materials on company property but only in non-work areas, such as employee parking lots, break rooms, lunch rooms, locker rooms, or rest rooms

  • both you and the employee you approach must be on non-work time only, such as before or after work, lunch time, or break time

  • carry your FedEx identification with you when on company property

  • until you have gathered together a solid and trusted group of co-workers in an active organizing committee, spread materials as discreetly and "behind the scenes" as possible

  • gather names/home & Email addresses/phone numbers of interested employees

  • document your Union activities on a regular basis

  • document suspected violations of the law by management, gather written testimony of witnesses, and contact a Union or labor attorney

Here are concrete suggestions about publicizing UNION WEBSITES:
  • pass UNION WEBSITES along to on-line co-workers via Email using your personal at-home account;  never use the company Email system for Union activity

  • print out copies of UNION WEBSITES, photocopy in larger quantities, and distribute to co-workers at FDX workplaces by:  personally handing out one-on-one; scattering around break rooms, locker rooms, or rest rooms; and placing on windshields of cars in employee parking lots.  To mail it to your FDX friends elsewhere in the country, use the United States Postal Service;  never use the company COMAT system for Union activity.
