FDX workers-- know your legal rights! You may pass out Union materials on company property, but only in non-work areas [employee parking lots, break rooms, lunch rooms, rest rooms]. Both you and the employee you approach must be on non-work time [before or after work, break time]. Under the Railway Labor Act, employees have the right to distribute Union literature without managerial interference. Willful violation by a manager is punishable per RLA subchapter 1, section 151, by fines ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 and/or imprisonment of not more than six months. Document any suspected violation by management, gather written testimony from witnesses, and present your case to your local union or labor law attorney.
