Welcome to Ingo's Quattro Page

Thanks for stopping by. Please pardon the time it takes to load this page.  I'm in the process of picking up another audi V8 (stay tuned for pics).   The Photos are large and are best viewed at 800x600. My favorite hobby is cars, and though I've owned everything from a '70½ Camaro Z-28 to a VW Rabbit, Scirocco and BMW 2002, Audi quattros have been favorites since I bought my '85 4000S quattro sedan in '87 and '90 V8Q, a '91 200q20v and a 1983 Urquattro (Turbo Quattro Coupe).  Like my previous v8q and my new v8q, my 200 has a special color, in this case Lago (Italian for Lake) blue.  My 200q20v has numerous upgrades, including Eurolights, S4/S6 gauges, S4 front seats, Porsche wheel studs all around, modified ECU and wastegate (approaching 300 hp), Bilstein Sport Struts/Shocks, Eibach Springs, Compomotive 17 x 8 wheels shod in Sumitomo HTRZ II 235/45 rubber, V8 rear taillights, and Big Red Porsche Brakes, etc. Here are a few shots of my cars.

Rare '84 Tornado Red Urq (only 65 imported to USA that year) with dashboard and switchgear unique to this year. I take my cars to the track when I can and hope to participate in as many quattro events as possible. I have participated in the Waterford Hills, Michigan Driving School & Safety Seminar many times. I have also participated at Grattan Raceway, Bridgestone Winter Driving School in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. For information on upcoming events or membership, contact the Audi Car Club of America (formerly Quattro Club USA)

Quite the tight fit in the rear wheel wells, but they do tuck in under the fender lip ;-) BTW, these wheels were intended for the Urquattro, so I can't wait to fit them.  However, the Urquattro is shod in Nokian Hakka's for winter driving, which is more befitting this time of year.

What's the speed limit here, anyway? Oh, REALLY!?! OOPS! (from the v8q)

A great source of no-nonsense advice regarding Audi quattro models, especially in the realm of repairs, problems, maintenance and upgrades is the Quattro List.  Quattrophiles just like you from all over the country and the world (over 1,000) are afforded a way to communicate via E-mail about their quattros.

Here I was  trying to do a four wheel slide (I was more successful on the first try!) in the Colorado Rockies with my previous V8q.  This  maneuver should only be attempted on loose gravel/dirt roads!

I feed my cars regularly with Mobil One® synthetic oil and Mobil Premium gasoline.

This is what the engine bay looks like in a v8q.

The front rotors /Caliper Combo on the front of my '91 200q20v.  Some might think these 335 mm are overkill, but I certainly don't think so.  Braking is as important (sometimes more so) than horsepower.  Adequate braking will let you wait to slow down, and can help you shave seconds off your lap times.

Close-up of my Compomotive 17 x 8 wheels. These wheels are supposed to be especially strong (which is a good thing, considering how bad the roads are around Detroit). Jeffrey Goggin (aka Audi Dudi ) also has these wheels in a different offset on his 200tq and Urquattro.

Additional Sources for Info on Audis and quattros

First, you might try visiting the new homepage of Audi of America .  Additional web sites for quattro lovers:  Scott Mockrey has a great audi  web site.  Then there's  Quattro Country.  My favorite Audi web page is that of a fellow lister and travel companion to Pikes Peak in 1997 & 1998, Jim Griffin.  He has great pictures and more links than most anyone. For information on Urquattro's, check out Robert Houk's page. And last, but not least, there's Chris Miller's  comprehensive 200q20v page, chock full of info on the 200q20v and repair procedures galore.
