Utilities_Manager

Utilities Manager:

This role is an accumulation of two different roles. We're assuming that this individual would concern themselves with both water resources and electricity. Normally water resources are controlled by the Department of Water Resources (DWR) and electricity in Southern California is controlled by Southern California Edison. It is the accepted duty of the DWR to keep track of the water supply and condition. These two variables are constantly changing and must be modified for the health and welfare of the residents under their jurisdiction.

Supplying electricity to the desert resident is an important undertaking. Without it, life in this climate would be next to unbearable. Loss of electricity can result in the loss of life.

Assignment:

Explore the resources below and others available to you concerning deserts and utilities management. Remember, you're creating both a written summation, to be turned into you teacher, and a multimedia presentation, to be presented to the rest of the class. Collect information needed to complete the Main Point, answer the Knowledge Questions and the Thought Question. For your written summation, write a paper doing each of the three assignments: Main Point, Knowledge Questions, and the Thought Question. Then, using Hyperstudio or Powerpoint, put that same information into a multimedia presentation. Try to incorporate new and exciting ideas into your multimedia presentation. Be creative, but remember, you will be graded on the quality of your work. Good luck!
