   We live in a 165 year old house that was once the manse of the local Presbyterian church. Built in 1835 of post and beam construction and located in Ramsey Township on two acres of land about one mile from Almonte, Ontario, a town of 4400 on the Mississippi River. Ramsey Township has recently amalgamated with Almonte and nearby Pakenham Township to form the new Municipality of Mississippi Mills.
We moved here in August of 1995 and are slowly renovating the house to bring back it's once grand decor. We previously lived on a small farm in the Abitibi-Temiscamingue region of Quebec some 15 miles southeast of the town of Rouyn-Noranda, where we ran a goat farm, including a dairy and cheesemaking plant. We are avid organic gardeners and maintain a fair size garden providing us with an abundance of fresh produce. We are also building a small orchard, now having only six apple trees, but we're hoping to plant more in the near future.
We love camping and are the proud owners of a 1987 VW Westfalia camper van. We take special care of this gem and use it as everyday transportation also. We take it out camping as often as possible which is never enough. We've been to Pennsylvania, New York, Rhode Island and many places here in Ontario with it. We are members of the Vanagon List an internet mailing list which pertains to VW Vanagon issues. Check it out !
Frank is an avid Lionel train operator and collector. He currently maintains a small 4' x 8' portable display layout which goes to many public shows. A Christmas time layout under and around the Christmas tree is always the centerpiece of the livingroom during the holidays. Frank, also a British car enthusiast with a great affection for MG's especially the MGB, has owned and restored several. See the Frank Condelli & Associates - Mechanics link for more photos and information.
Frank is also a member of the Mississippi Mills L.A.C.A.C. (Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee), which advises city council on heritage issues.
Rita works as a nurse in two of the local hospitals, the Ottawa Civic and the Almonte General. Here is a picture of her on one of our vacation trips.       April, our daughter, is 14 and attends Notre Dame School in Carleton Place where she's in 9th grade. Her extracurricular interests include dancing, socializing with her friends and helping out around home. You can get a glimps of her in one of her favorite places. We have a small black poodle named Joubie who is always under foot and demands a lot of attention ! Click on Joubie to see him.
My sister, Pat, the Cookie Queen, has a great selection of homemade gourmet cookies, cookbooks , kitchen wear, new recipies posted every week and great editorial viewpoints which you need to read on her website, Cookie Queen.   Please check it out you will be glad you did.
