Playmate's 12" Figures

In 1999 Playmates started releasing figures in the 12" format.  The figures are well articulated and come with cloth clothing and varied accessories.  The packaging and figure quality made these figures an immediate hit with collectors.  Each figure comes in an individual box, with a cellophane window on the front flap.  The flap opens to show the full figure.  The first set issued was timed with the release of the Insurrection Movie, and was quickly followed by many more series.  Eventually, like the rest of the Playmates line, these 12" figures also were released in Exclusive formats.

Playmates stopped producing 9" figures in 1999, but in 2000 they re-released
many previously released figures under a new Assortment number.
