Instead of the negative we have to place the positive

At the efforts for the protection of life it is not sufficient to condemn and to combat all the negative, the evil, the horrible facts: the millions of abortions of innocent children, the euthanasia of old people and those with handicaps and all the other offences against the right of all human beings to live. Certainly, all this also belongs to the realities of this world before which we are not allowed to close our eyes. To treat all this only with comprehension and benevolence doesn´t eliminate the injustice. But the bare combat against the evil is depressing and discouraging in the long run. There is something missing. We need the positive aspects which can replace the position of the negative ones. We need an aim in mind.

It is similar to the combat against our own weaknesses and mistakes. If we don´t do anything except fighting against them, we are persisting in these problems and don´t see what properly should replace them. If I, for example, always keep saying: "I don´t want to be indifferent to other people", I´m hardly able to overcome this weakness, in the long run I will lose my courage so that, finally, I will stop all my efforts. But if I keep my fellow creature in mind, if I have as my aim to help them, if I am pleased over the fact that I give them a pleasure - without denying their weaknesses - then it is this that gives me courage and impulse and strength, and step by step I will succeed in changing my caracter. 

Muchmore we also need to demonstrate that life is worth, that life presents many riches, which are not allowed to be withholded to anybody. Among these riches there are the psychical, mental and spiritual riches, which are, indeed, recognized with difficulties concerning a bare material view of things. Life itself already is a value. Even in situations of misfortune, necessity and problems there may be a sense and riches as you never can experience in a life without harm or hurt.

Certainly, it is one of our functions to be the thorn in the flesh and to point towards the injustice. But the good is existing, and it is towards this that we have to turn our eyes and the eyes of the other people, during our combat against the injustice.
