The Detachment of Indiana boasts a membership of over 34,000 members. There are 281 Squadrons (local units) spread throughout the state of Indiana. The Detachment donated over $99,000 to help Indiana's Veterans. We have projects that help with the youth and the community. Squadrons throughout the state offer various projects and activities, Bowling Tournaments, Golf Tournaments, Softball teams and many are involved heavily in their community.

Membership Eligibility

All male descendants, adopted sons and stepsons of members of the American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, and the Persian Gulf War, or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service, shall be eligible for membership in the Sons of The American Legion.
