Find Out About Us

The Carline Project is a job training program designed for the youth of Ireland who are without training or qualification for gainful employment and who are at risk of becoming involved in drug and alcohol abuse and crime. The youth we work with are from families with second-generation unemployment. Until recently, we conducted our job training activities with disadvantaged youth in a two room garage in the village of Clondalkin. At that time we trained our 8 young people (ages 13-19) as car mechanics. Thanks to the generosity of many people we were able to move to a permanent facility in Dublin and are able to train 25 (soon to be 50) young people at a time. We have expanded our training programs to include training in the area of computers, horticulture, carpentry, glass making, photo-blocking, landscaping, and organic farming. We also have an access program for those young people still involved in drugs, counseling, and special education.
