Carline Updates
In the past year, the Carline Project has moved to a permanent facility which was dedicated in a cermenony by the President of Ireland, Mary Robinson.
We will soon be able to train as many as 50 young people at a time. Our training programs have expanded to include training in the area of computers, horticulture, carpentry, glass making, photo-blocking, landscaping, and orgainc farming. We are also offering medical and educatiuonal services to our young people.
This year we wish to expand the program to develop
"Enterprise Units" where our graduates will start their
own small businesses and have a year of sheltered employment to
help them better organize and build linkages with regional companies.
This year of sheltered employment will allow the young people
to build the necessary capital to equip their own new business
once they leave the Carline Project.
