ALAN ORESKY is a freelance string musician and teacher in the Greater
Baltimore-Washington area.
ALAN ORESKY is a founding member of the Fabrangen Fiddlers, a
Jewish-American folk music ensemble, founded in 1971.
ALAN ORESKY was a founding member of and played fiddle and mandolin in the
Fast Flying Vestibule, an old-time country and Irish traditional music band based in
Washington, DC in the '70's.
ALAN ORESKY has recorded two albums of Irish Traditional music with Iona and
can be heard on albums by the American "folk troubadour", Joe Glazer. He is also
featured on several albums produced by the Fabrangen Fiddlers and David Shneyer.
In addition to his extensive and ongoing session work in jazz, swing and folk music on
violin and mandolin, ALAN ORESKY has released a self-produced recording in
May, 1994: "A Dream of Peace".
