Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day
August 3 - 5, 2001 Ft. Collins to Boulder, Colorado
WHY THEY WALK. . .
According to the American Cancer Society, over 180,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and over 40,000 will die. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women in the U.S., and the leading cause of death among women between the ages of 40 and 55. Every woman is at risk for breast cancer, and every person who participated in the 3-Day made a contribution to the fight against this disease. The net proceeds from the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day fund many different areas of breast cancer, including medical research; a national finance assistance program for medically underserved women who need breast biopsies and support services; advocacy training; community-based breast health programs and more.
