Ron Yankowski has been a philatelist for 41 years. He is a member of A.P.S. (#124432). He specializes in U.S., Automotive, and Lithuanian Stamps. His wife Suzanne, a member of the Christmas Philatelic Club, collects Christmas related philatelic items.
Ron's grandparents came from Lithuania in 1913 and settled in Mechanicville, New York, where they continued to garden in their back yard and keep bees. Recently Ron and Suzanne began to delve into family history and decided to visit Lithuania to see where his family originated.
What he found was a gracious people who had strong feelings of patriotism and religion. People who had learned how to endure and to survive. People who understood the important role of a family and respected the spirit that the grandparents keep alive when other countries dominated their life. A spirit that would eventually lead to the independence of a nation.
Ron Yankowski was able to capture this spirit on video tape. In a Philatelic Tour of Lithuania, he has had an opportunity to make his stamps come alive with the actual scenes of Lithuania.
The Video includes scenes of Lithuania similar to the following photo gallery which has been included here for your pleasure.
