Rivera ADV Films continues its ongoing commitment to excellence in all thing anime with the latest and upcoming DVD releases of "Neon Genesis Evangelion Collection 0:6", "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040: Blood & Steel", and "Generator Gawl Volume 3." Compared to the introspective downbeat mood set by the last installment, "Neon Genesis Evangelion Collection 0:6" is an action packed volume filled with battles between the EVA units, which yield a sinister purpose for Shinji and the rest of the NERV pilots team. The popularity of the series is again ever present in the presentation of this DVD edition, which features English, French, Spanish, and Japanese Dolby Stereo Surround 2.0 Soundtracks with English Subtitles. The menus and scene selections feature full motion animation and the (1.33:1) picture is sharp and bright. Three episodes are included on the DVD. Probably just as popular if not even more well known is the cyber punk techno music filled anime series "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040." In the volume "Blood & Steel", the Night Sabers join the remnants of the A.D. Police to fight the Boomers who now outnumber humans one million to one. Extras includes original sketches for Nene, Linna, Sylia, and Priss and there are trailers for "Farscape", "Shadowraiders", "Orphen", "Arc The Lad", "A.D. Police", and Princess Nine. The image quality is crystal clear with a (1.33:1) aspect ratio with English and Japanese Dolby Stereo Surround 2.0 Soundtracks with English Subtitles on the dual layered DVD. The menus feature a mix of full motion scenes and animation and are easy to navigate. Five episodes are included on this volume. In addition to a host of opening trailers for other titles available on DVD from ADV Films, "Generator Gawl Volume 3" features the trailer for the anime series itself and Character Introduction Diagrams, Generator Schematics, and Credit Free Opening and Closing animation. The interactive menus feature full motion scene selection choices and are easy to navigate. The volume includes three episodes that further develop the tensions between Gawl, Koji, and Ryo against the evil Professor Ryuko Saito with betrayal, lies, and surprises abound. The tone of the series is dark, but the picture quality is quite clear with no artifacts at all. English and Japanese Dolby Stereo Surround 2.0 Soundtracks with English Subtitles are encoded on to the DVD. The DVD contains three episodes. "Neon Genesis Evangelion Collection 0:6", "Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040: Blood & Steel", and "Generator Gawl Volume 3" will be available on DVD from ADV Films. © Copyright 2001 By Mark A.
