We have dedicated this page to one of the most intriguing aspects of ghost hunting, photographs. A ghost can present itself photographically in several different ways. The most common forms in which entities are visible on film are globes or globules. Globes/globules appear as balls of light which can vary in size and number. Another common anomaly caught on film is the ectoplasm, easily identified by it's swirling mist-like formation on film. Oftentimes, ectoplasms are accompanied by globes and globules. Vortices are another strange photographic phenomena. The vortex itself is a tornado-like visual in your photo. Much of the time, vortices appear to be a concentration of globes and globules. Also, they can sometimes cast a shadow in the photo. It is theorized that the vortex may be a means of travel for ghosts, a portal so to speak.
Unbeknownst to most, the least common photographic
evidence of ghosts is the apparition. An apparition is humanoid in appearance,
oftentimes transparent, and may be partial or complete. They will also exhibit
distinct, recognizable features that make for an incredible photo. Due to our own skepticism of anomalous photographs, the PGHA has implemented extreme discipline while taking pictures at investigations. Fully aware that oftentimes, orbs of light, vortices, and ectoplasmic mists can be attributed to natural causes, we have made it a point to go beyond the needed measures to bring you these images. I have included a complete explanation of the steps taken to assure you that what we have captured on film is legitimate. They can be found in our "Tips" section of this website. Also be sure to visit our Fakes/Mishaps page to see what some false positive images will look like. I am in no way proclaiming that we are the best. I am posting this to let you, the viewer, decide. When viewing our photographs, understand the strict measures we've taken to eliminate the possibility of a false-positive image. Some techniques applied are used by ghost hunters everywhere. Others were derived from our knowledge, experience, skepticism, self-criticism and professionalism. In applying such methods, we are attempting to take ghost photography a step further than any other organization. Strict photography rules and careful examination have allowed us to confidently bring you these photos. Please keep in mind that each photo is taken out of context. They are individual images from many rolls of film. Oftentimes, the images you don't see on this website, further substantiate the authenticity of the images you are viewing. Also, these images come to you from many different cameras and film types. Images are taken by individual investigators attending the same investigation. Rolls of film are processed at different locations to avoid any complications of developing equipment error from any particular photo shop.
