My name is Robert Douglas Kleopfer and I am
the 4th great grandson of Samuel Hall of County Down, Ireland and
the 4th great grandson of Robert Henning, also of Ireland. The purpose
of this site is to provide a clearinghouse of information related to the
descendants of Samuel Hall and Robert Henning. You won't find
fancy graphics here, but you will find that the pages load quickly. I will
do my best to update this site with fresh and interesting information as
time permits. I invite you to share information with us! Any information
about any descendant, such as photographs, stories, biographical accounts,
obituaries, and queries are welcome. I will post the information as appropriate.

The HALLs and HENNINGs
Samuel Hall was born in County Down, Ireland in the late 1700’s.
According to a family bible his wife’s maiden name was Slemon. They
had at least four children,
John Hall
born in 1807, Francis Hall born in 1823, James Hall, and
Rachel Hall. The children were probably all born in County Down, Ireland.
County Down is in Northern Ireland on the east coast near the North Channel.
The majority of the people of Northern Ireland are of Scottish or English
ancestry and are known commonly as the Scotch-Irish. The remainder of the
population is Irish, principally native to Ulster.
Robert and Elizabeth Henning were also from County Down, Ireland.
They had six children: Elizabeth born 1795, John born 1797,
William born 1802, Matthew born 1804, Nancy born 1808,
Margaret Ann
born 1811, and Mary. Nancy married James Middleton, II and lived
in Indiana with the Halls and Hennings (see the
Middleton Family
for more information on this line).
