Rev. Rita Hays is an ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church with 16 years experience in local church programming for youth, children, education, and other ministries. She is certified by the United Methodist Church in both Christian Education and Youth Ministry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Mercer University and a Master of Religious Education degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has additional coursework at the graduate level from United Theological Seminary and the Scarritt Graduate School. A member of the newly united Kentucky Conference, she has served on numerous district and conference committees within the old Louisville Conference, including Chair of the Board of Diaconal Ministry, conference Children's Director, and Education and Sunday School Chairperson. She presently serves as Minister of Education for State Street United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  She is a candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
