Americans Take Out More Take Out?

Take-Out Takes Over American Meals *

Although most Americans eat their evening meal at home, only one in three actually makes it from scratch, as takeout and convenience foods are becoming increasingly common on the dinner table.

A new study of trends in U.S. food consumption shows made-from-scratch dinners have dropped 7 percent over the last two years and nöw account for only 32 percent of evening dinners.

Family and loved ones have every right to feel concerned when one of their own has to placed in a nursing home facility. On the other hand a nursing home does have to protect itself from false accusations. I became aware of this when I was approached by a nursing home that wanted 2 things actually. Number 1 they wanted a web presence and number 2 they wanted me to design a visitor survey/suggestion/complaint box form to help with the feedback. This nursing home had no web presence at all and was quite surprised when I informed them of the information about them that was online. A typical "investigative" research search is $1200.00! But you'd be surprised at what information there is out there about a business. Whether it well founded or not the business will at least want to know what is being said about them. In some cases they may even be able to bring some legal action if it is warranted.

Government Grant To Grow Marijuana?

added 11/4/05

Someone actually tried to find out some information about this and here is a few of what I found out about it.

In the past Canada has had a program where those that qualified because of their illness could receive "government" grown weed whether it was the government or a "designated" grower that supplied it. Some have even received federal exemptions to grow it! In the U.S. there were 9 states that allowed limited use of marijuana for medical purposes under the direction of a doctor. I won't say which state it was but a farmer (in the US) got permission (and a monthly check) to grow marijuana for 17 "legally" ill people.

Blockbuster Pays Late Fees

After Blockbuster rolled out their "No Late Fees" campaign many renters noticed that they were still getting charged--not late fees, but restocking fees and for purchases of rentals. Blockbuster's unclear campaign, which debuted to compete with Netflix's no-late-fees business model has backfired because the company wasn't upfront about their fine print and now they have to pony-up $630,000 to consumers in 47 states and the District of Columbia.

Did you know that Internet and Internet Security Experts agree that you should do a periodic check on your name and/or business just to see if there is any information on you (without your permission) on the Internet!

Dear Rose, Thank you for responding. Are you a designer?

My objective for just starting out would be to work at a residential design firm. I am looking for entry-level positions, since I am not yet a designer. So basically, I would like to be a draftsman, an assistant, or an expediter, to name a few. I have my resume posted. I have applied to many jobs online as well as being an associate in a database for contract work. I have a list of design firms in Chicagoland and Indianapolis and need to start sending my resume and virtual portfolio to those places. If I see an opening online that fits anything close to what I would like to do, I apply for it. I have heard from several places and as of now, I am waiting to hear back from the hiring manager.

I would appreciate it if you could tell me where you found that job listing you gave as well as the similar 20.

Thanks again,

One of the many services I provide is an Employment and Job Listing Service. I provide people with a list of job openings and the contact information needed to apply for those job openings. You can specify your employment needs by location, salary, etc., Posting your resume and/or classified ad(s) is another service that is provided by me. So I kind of have to make it my business to know about job openings that have been posted because that is what people are looking for.

For example you mentioned "interior designer" and "Chicago". Here are just a few of the listings I found:

I am also interested in finding a good black hairdresser, im from the west palm beach in Florida, can you send me the websites. thanks
