VWilson577: It started as a claim that a few Pottawatomie's filed and the lawyers found a lot of people to sign too, even though they weren't Pott. This claim is not proof that someone is Indian
"Whereas representatives of the Pottawatomie Indians of Michigan and Indiana, in behalf of all the Pottawatomie Indians of said States, make claim against the United States on account of various treaty provisions which, it is alleged, here not been complied with:"
E6363: Another "not been complied with"
VWilson577: It goes on to talk about a joint resolution of Congress approved
28 Jul 1864, mentions treaties of 1795, 1809, 1818, 1821, 1826, 1828, 1829, 1832, 1833, 1833 and 1846 They have a list of 17 wants. This will all be on the page.
