RVLovers Adventures
February 14, 2001
Hello from Arizona. On the way out of Mexico we stopped at the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, a scenic park in the Sonoran Deseert. We took a short walk through one of their nature trails with two motorhoming friends we had met at the Puerto Peñasco rally, Caroline and Don from California. We were fascinated by this dramatic mountains-and-plains scenery. This remote park is worth the effort to get to, because this is the only place in the United States to see the unusual organ pipe cactus.
We have been having fun with our friends Bob & Merita, who are still in Mesa, Arizona. They have just moved out of their house and are beginning fulltimers in their 40-foot Country Coach motorhome.
One night we went with a group in our RV park to the little town of Mammoth and saw a hilarious country and western group, the McNasty's.
But even more impressive than this "world's largest greenhouse" was the scenery in this high desert region:
Update on Chief...
Chief practiced his skill at escaping this month. Here he is trying to open
the screen door of the coach. He has polished this trick so he can do it
inless than a minute now. But once he's out, he isn't sure where to go. Once
he went to a neighboring coach to visit their dog.
Tomorrow we are leaving for California. We are still in search of warm, sunny weather. Looks like we won't find it until we get back to Indiana in the spring! Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. We love you! Click here to go to our other pages:
