A FEW CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS

Decorated Carpenter Apron
Materials:
white canvas carpenters apron
fabric crayons, markers or craft paints

Draw different types of tools (ruler, hammer, pliers, nails, screws, ect) and of course Dad's name or special saying (#1 Dad, Tool Man ect) on the apron. Color in with the fabric crayons (follow instuctions on box to make it permanent), markers, or fabric paints.
Now dad will have a handy place to keep his tools when he is working around the house.

Handprint Coaster
corkboard
acrylic paint
spray sealer
plastic plate

Cut coaster in a square or circle a little larger than your childs hand. Pour paint onto a plastic plate and place your child's hand in it. Then have them print on the corkboard. After paint has dried, spray with sealer to seal the paint. Pair the coaster with a mug for a nice addition to dad's office desk.
If the child's hand is to large, use their thumbprints or have them paint x's o's for hugs and kisses on a piece of corkboard.

SOAP ON A ROPE
2 Cups soap flakes (homemade soap flakes can be made by grating very dry bar soap)
1/2 cup hot water
egg beater
approx 1 yard of yarn or cord
Pour soap flakes and water into a bowl. Add a few drops of food coloring if you want. Beat until mixed well.
Cut yarn or cord long enough to fit very loosely around a neck. Tie the ends together with a large knot. Press a soap size glob of mixture on the yarn just above the knot. Squeeze the soap so it is attached to the yarn well. Form into a special shape ball, heart, ect.
Let soap dry for several days.
