MATERIALS: Size I hook; red, white, and pink yarn; 15 beer bottle caps; 2 small black pom-poms; 1 medium size red pom-pom; 1 large white pom-pom.
SIZE: 5" across, 7 1/2" tall
DIRECTIONS: (Make 3 red, 2 pink, 10 white)
Ch 3, join to form ring.
Pull beginning strand tight so that the hole in the center is small enough that bottle cap won't show underneath. Trim this strand and tuck inside. Using yarn needle weave ending strand through top part of last row of dc. Insert bottle cap and then pull tight to enclose bottle cap. Insert needle through back part but don't pull all the way through so that you can tie a knot. Clip ends short.
FINISHING: Using glue gun, glue bottle caps together using the picture as a guide. Glue large white pom-pom to top of hat. Glue black pom-poms to center of pink bottle caps for eyes. Glue red pom-pom just below the 2 pink bottle caps.
Rounds 1-2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout); 11 dc in ring, join to top of beg ch-3. End off after round 2 leaving about 6” strand at the end.
