Ch 9. Join with sl st to form ring.
FINISHING:
Cut wire in 4" length (6"). Fold in half and turn ends to form antenna. Cut chenille into 2 1/2" piece (3 1/2"). Fold crocheted piece in half to form 4 wings. Slip wire under chenille and wrap chenille around butterfly to form "body" of butterfly.
Row 1: Ch 3 (4), 2 dc (3) in ring, ch 4. * 3 dc, ch 4. Repeat * 7 times. (8 sets of 3 dc). Sl st in tip of first ch 3 (4).
Row 2: Sl st in next 2 dc, ch 3 (4), 4 dc (tr) in ch 4 of previous row, ch 4, 5 dc (tr) in same ch 4 (1 wing). * 5 dc (tr) in next ch 4, ch 4, 5 dc (tr)( in same ch 4. Repeat * 6 times (8 wings). Sl st at top of ch 3 (tr).
Row 3: Ch 1, 6 dc (tr) in ch 4 of previous row, ch 4, 6 dc (tr) in same ch 4 (1 wing). Sc in space between wings of previous row. Repeat * 7 times. Sl st in top of ch 1. Cut thread.
