CIRCLE FRIDGIE

MATERIALS: Size K and G hooks; any color yarn and small amounts of white and black yarn, magnet.

SIZE: Around 5-6" across (without braid)

DIRECTIONS: (Make two)

Row 1: With two strands of any color yarn and K hook, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk (6)
Row 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12)
Row 3: (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around. (18)
Row 4: (sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. (24)
Row 5: (sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. (30)
Row 6: (sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. (36)
Row 7: (sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. fasten off. (42)

EYES: (Make two)

With G hook and single strand of black yarn, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join with a sl st in first sc, fasten off. Attach single strand of white in any st, 2 sc in each st around, fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew eyes to face.

ROUND NOSE: (This nose is shown in the picture)
Note: Do not join unless otherwise stated. Mark first st of each rnd.

Rnd 1: With single strand of white and G hook, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hk. (6)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around. (12)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around. (18)
Rnd 4: (Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st) around. (24)
Fasten off leaving enough yarn to complete and sew on face. Weave through last row and pull tight.

Row 1: With single strand of white yarn and G hook, ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hk, sc in each ch across. (7)
Row 2 - 3: Ch 1,sc in each st across, turn. At the end of row 3, fasten off leaving enough yarn for sewing. Matching stitches, sew row one to row three. This will be a long skinny nose.

MOUTH: Ch with white (or red) to the desired length, fasten off.

FINISHING: After putting on the eyes, nose and mouth, sc back sides of crocheted circles together inc. 1 st every 7th st to keep work flat. For each pigtail use any color and cut 24 strands of yarn each 18" long. Separate into 3 bundles of 8. Loop through bottom of face. One set to left side the other through right side. Folding in half for length of about 9" braid, tie bottom of pigtail with yarn. Trim pigtail. Put magnetic tape the full length of the back of each face. You may use glue but it will be more secure if you use matching thread to tack the magnets securely. Try using a long sharp needle like the type used in doll making.
