MATERIALS: For small flower (center part): Size 10 thread: 1 ball color A and 1 ball color B; size 6 steel crochet hook; pompom, felt or a small amount of a contrast thread for the center. Note: picture show a pom pom center.
For large flower: Luster Sheen crochet thread in Main Color (MC); small amount of size 10 crochet thread in Contrast Color (CC); Size D crochet hook (for main color); Size 6 steel crochet hook (for CC on edge of flower)
STITCHES:
For large flower: Cluster (CL) = sc, hdc, 12 dc, hdc, sc
DIRECTIONS
SMALL FLOWER:
Note: BLO = back loop only
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join in 1st sc.
Rounds 1 and 2 can be made with brown, black, gold or color of your choice. Both rnds of petals can be made in same color or you can make 1 rnd one color and the other rnd a second color. You can glue a pompom, or a small circular piece of felt in the color of your choice to the center of the flower, or even a button. This is a very versatile flower and is ideal for embellishing your crocheted items.
LARGE FLOWER:
With size D hook and Luster Sheen thread, ch 2.
ASSEMBLY:
To complete flower, glue the small flower to the center of the large flower.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. Join in first sc. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: Work this round in BLO. Ch 10, sl st in first sc (sl st, ch 10, sl st in next sc) around. Join in base of beg ch-10. Fasten off. (12 petals)
Rnd 4: With right side of work facing join thread with sl st in first unused sc loop of rnd-2, ch 6, sl st in same loop, (sl st, ch 6, sl st in next unused loop) around. Join with sl st in base of beg ch-6. Fasten off.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in second ch from hook. Sl st in first sc made.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around. Join with sl st in 1st sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 6, sl st in first sc, sc in next sc, (sl st, ch 6, sl st in next sc, sc in next sc) 5 times. Sl st in beg sl st.
Rnd 4: (CL in first ch-6 sp, sc in next sc [the one between the 2 ch-6's]) 6 times. Join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
Rnd 5: Join size 10 CC thread with sl st in any stitch of last rnd, ch 1, loosely sc in same st and in each st around. Join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
