MATERIALS: Size 6 steel hook; size 10 crochet thread: 1 ball black and 1 ball Knit-Cro-Sheen White/Pearl; elastic hair band
STITCHES:
Love Knot (LK) = Pull up a loop on hook to measure 1/2", YO and draw through (loose ch made), sc in back ridge only of loose ch just made.

TOP LAYER:
For a ruffle effect on white edging, with crochet hook, pull up (lightly) one of the loops of each LK.
Cluster stitch (CL) = Ch 3, dc in same st (stitch specified in directions), skip 2 stS, sl st in next st.
Note: BLO = Back Loop Only.
With black thread sl st onto hair band.
Rnd 1: Make 80 sc around band. Join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Work this round (only) in BLO, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 3 dc in each remaining sc around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-3. (240 dc)
Rnds 3-5: Ch 3, dc in next dc and in each remaining st around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-3.
Rnd 6: * Ch 3, dc in same st, skip 2 dc, sl st in next dc * (CL made). Repeat between * around. Join with sl st in base of beginning ch-3. Fasten off black.
Rnd 1: Attach white/pearl thread with sl st to any unused loop (front loop on Rnd-1 of bottom layer), ch 1, sc in same st, sc in each remaining unused loop around. Join with sl st in beginning sc. (80 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 3 dc in each remaining sc around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-3. (240 dc).
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in next st and in each remaining st around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-3.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, LK, skip 2 dc of rnd. 3, * dc in next dc, LK, skip 2 dc *. Repeat between * around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-3. Fasten off. Sew in loose ends.
