Who do I think I am, telling you anything about writing?

Although I consider myself a relative newbie to this world of free-lance writing, I've learned a few things that have proven successful---and I'd like to share some of those lessons with you.

Several years ago, writing professionally was nothing more than a long held dream of mine---never something I considered pursuing seriously. Now here I am with a large number of published articles, several regular columns (both on and off-line), a book that's selling well, and another book on the way. (Can you say, "Wow?!")

Do dreams come true? Yes, sometimes they actually do. . . .
