This page is dedicated to the art and science of land surveying.

My reason for setting up this page is to show those interested in Land Surveying what monuments were typically set by the land surveyors of the General Land Office (GLO) in Missouri between 1820's and 1840's.
I am trying to show that sometimes corners are very obvious and sometimes they are not. I will also show that sometimes the "obvious" corner is not the "right" corner. Often times, the search for evidence is the most costly and difficult part of the survey, and in my opinion, it is always the most important. If you are not measuring from the correct corners, the survey will not be correct!

I finally got a few pictures developed of GLO stones. Soon, I hope to have more cool pictures of some GLO stones and evidence. Hope you like it.
