Prizes:
USA: On October 15th 1997 the RIAA certified the album double-platinum for 2 million copies sold in the USA.
On Januar 6th Butterfly reached triple platinum status and
on October 27th 1998 the album reached 4x Platinum.
Mariah Carey is now the first female vocalist to get seven consecutive triple platinum albums in the U.S.A.
Australia: Butterfly gets platinum in the first sales week. In February the album is certified double platinum for 140.000 copies sold.
Canada: The album is certified double platinum.
Europe: Platinum Award for 1.000.000 copies sold.
