Tyre D. Love Tyre Love was born 1805 in Greenville Co., South Carolina. He was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Nation Love. He married Eleanor Waldrop 19 Oct 1822 in Jefferson Co., AL. Tyre and Eleanor had twelve children: 1) Samuel A. Love born 24 Dec 1822 married Mary Ann Thomas, 2) Elizabeth Love born 1 Mar 1824 married William Self, 3) James Allen Love born 23 Nov 1825 married Matilda Self, 4) John Asbury Love born 17 Jun 1828 married Elizabeth Ware, 5) William Harkey Love born 6 Jul 1831 married 1st Susan Self and 2nd Delia Morton, 6) Sarah Drucilla Jane Love born 17 Jul 1833 married Elijah Self, 7) Henry Fielding Love born 7 Mar 1836 married Martha Self, 8) Nancy Elizabeth Love born 19 Jan 1838 died in infancy, 9) Thomas M. Love born 24 mar 1839 did not marry, 10) Wiley Franklin Love born 20 Dec 1840 married Martha Tidwell, 11) Tyre M. Love born 8 Apr 1844 married Mary Cooper, and 12) Anna Martha Love born about 1849 died in infancy. Eleanor died about 1852 and Tyre married Sarah Caroline Brown on 31 Nov 1856 (Yes, that is the correct date) in Blount County, Alabama. Their five children were: 1) Enoch Harper Love born about 1857 married Sarah E. Franklin, 2) Minervia Love born about 1859, 3) Manila Love born about 1864 married William S. Hayes, 4) Walter Drennan Love born about 1866, and 5) Emma Love born about 1868 married Jo McClusky. In a Widow's Application filed by Sarah Caroline Brown Love, it is stated that Tyre lived on a farm in the "Gurleys Creek" area. Tyre died on 6 Jun 1868.
