MARCH & GRAND OPENING CEREMONY
Tennessee Civil War Museum - Chattanooga, Tennessee
August 9, 1998 @ 9am-12noon


Co. G, 10th Texas Infantry will be acting as Confederate Color Guard for the Grand Opening Ceremony of the new Tennessee Civil War Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee, what promises to be one of the best Civil War museums in this part of the country. Festivities begin at 10am (9am for participants) Saturday, August 8, 1998. A parade will kick off the Opening Ceremony, followed by a Confederate & Federal flag raising. The parade route will only be a half-mile. Invited Participants will each receive a free Grand Opening Museum T-shirt and ticket to the museum.

CONFEDERATES

The Confederate Battalion will be portraying the 9th Arkansas Infantry, with members of Co. G, 10th Texas Infantry acting as Color Guard. Saxton's Coronet Band has been hired to do Confederate and play for the CS Battalion in the march.

FEDERALS

The Federal Battalion will be portraying the 49th Ohio and we have hired Camp Chase Fife & Drums to play as their regimental band. Currently we have the Mudsills, Bully Boys, 9th Kentucky and some of the Skulkers Mess participating.

NOTE: For those members of Co. G, 10th Texas Infantry, wishing to carpool, we will be leaving no later than 730am, from Kennesaw at the Cracker Barrel, directly east, just off the Chastain Road exit at I-75.

All participants not making the carpool will need to be on-site at the museum no later than 9am that Saturday morning. Plan on all festivities, including parade to last until Noon. The museum is located at the base of Lookout Mountain across the street from the Incline Railway.
