McVay Cemetery

August 30-31 1997

rating: 6

We entered the cemetery through the most remote end. I took 3 or 4 pictures

on arrival, as usual. At first it seemed peaceful as usual, about 20 minutes into the

investigation, some of the members had numerous visual sightings. In a blaze of

flashes the cemetery was lit up. Hopefully these pictures will be posted sooner (my

fault).

Some of the first sightings involved seeing a kind of metalic colored

"specture". I was one of the couple that did see it. It was from a side profile, when i

turned my head to look, it turned too, but instead of turning around fully it

disappeared half way through the turn. The best way to discribe this is like spinning

a coin on a table, how it almost "disappears" when it's at half-spin. The second

sighting was when i took a flash photo of a couple of plots and in between the plots

and us, in the flash you could easily see a figure standing after the flash was over. I

couldn't beleive it at first, thinking it was just my eyes playing tricks on me so i did it

again. Same results. So i tapped some other members on the shoulder to watch

me do it again. FLASH! It was closer this time. Wow was the most common word

heard immediately after that. Tried it again, nothing. It was surprising that it would

stand there that long while photographing. Very uncommon in my expirence.

We then settled down on some stones that lied around a path that went thrue

the cemetery. We just stood there talking, about everyday stuff. I was in the middle

of a sentence when i suddenly stopped. Right in front of me i saw a "shadow" (kinda

like a free floating dark cloud), moving to the left of us, and unraveling, like a spool of

thread, kinda just disapated right in front of me. I just froze. Standing there just

amazed. SNAP, SNAP, SNAP!!! Once again, pictures lit up McVay. I didn't think

anyone else aw it but Lance, saw "something". I'm not sure what he saw, didn't ask

him. All i remember is he said, "Wow, did you see that!?!" So I guess he saw the

same.

12:40 rolled around, so we desided it was time to go. Snapping a few

departing photos. I saw a few plots that i reguarly photograph, in hopes to get

something one time. I then took aim, and shot. In the flash i saw something moving

on the ground. I felt kinda like my heart stopped beating. It kept moving after the

flash too. I said "Hey, Hey guys look!." I then took another photo. This time i had

time to see what it was. A black cat was roaming around with us. He definately was

not camera shy. Funny when you think about it, but not when your nearly shocked out

of your boots. But, on the bright side, I managed to scare the crap out of a small

animal, and i got some cool shots of a black cat with all it's hair standing on end,

with tombstones as a background. Sounds like we had a good time right! Anyways, I

saved the best for last.

The very second we were about to leave, a police officer pulled up. People

reported flashing lights coming from the cemetery.

[NOTE: if a cop does catch you, BE HONEST! Explain yourself calmly and

rationaly, and show no disrespect, you may not be braking any rules, and it won't

hurt to have the police's permission.]

We just explained ourselves, listened to some very mild critisism. In this case

there was no problem, just wondering about the flashes. But nothing is more fun

then waiting there while he runs your licence number through his little computer!

That is about it for this investigation. As of yet we don't know the next time we will

be going (we will though). We are looking into other cemeteries too. Variety is the

spice of life! (sappy i know).

Happy Hunting,

Marcus GSS
