A Cyber Masterpiece!

Make your own Mona Lisa masterpiece. You can paint her in the style of Leonardo da Vinci, or change her any way you'd like.

If you'd like to print out these instructions, go to your File menu and select Print.

What You'll Need:
Computer paint program, such as Kid Pix
(or pattern from this page)

What To Do:

• You'll need a picture of the Mona Lisa to look at. Use a picture from an art book or find a poster of this famous painting. Place the picture next to your computer, where you can see it.
  
  Here's another way to see the painting:
  Copy the image from this web page. To copy an image, point to the image, press down your mouse button, drag to the words "copy image". This will make a copy that can be pasted onto your computer drawing screen. Exit the Internet. At your computer, open a painting program such as Kid Pix, ClarisWorks/Paint, or Windows Paint. Go to the Edit menu and select "Paste". Place the image of Mona to one side of your drawing area.
  
• At your computer, draw your own version of the Mona Lisa. You can make it in the style of the original or add your own ideas. Maybe you'd like her to be at the beach or holding a bag of popcorn at a ball game.
  
  
  Another option:
  Print the pattern that is provided. Draw a face for Mona and add a background. Color your art with crayons or markers and make a fancy frame around your masterpiece.
  
• If you pasted Leonardo's painting onto your screen, erase it now. Center your own artwork in the screen. Make a fancy frame out of colored paper and tape it onto your monitor.
  
  Here's another idea: If you're working in Kid Pix Studio, add your picture to a Slide Show. This will be your cyber art gallery. Make more of your own pictures, or add your friend's artwork to your show. Have an art gallery opening night party and display your masterpieces on-screen for everyone to enjoy.
