Mona by Mail

Mail your Mona Lisa masterpiece to a friend! Turn your artwork into a postcard and send it by good old snail mail.

If you'd like to print out these instructions, go to your File menu and select Print.

What You'll Need:
Computer paint program, such as Kid Pix® (or pattern from this page)
Mona Lisa artwork from the "Mona by Me" project
Crayons or Markers
Poster board
Scissors
Glue stick

What To Do:

• Make a picture of the Mona Lisa from the first project in this lesson. Color it with crayons and cut it out into a rectangle. Measure the sides of the rectangle.
  
  
• At your computer, draw a rectangle to the same size as your artwork. Draw a line up and down, dividing the rectangle in half. On the left half, type a message to your friend. On the right half, type the name and address of your friend. Print and cut out the rectangle.
  
  
  Another option:
  Print the pattern that is provided. The size will match the size of the Mona Lisa pattern on the previous project. Write a message on the left side of the rectangle and your friend's address on the right side. Cut the rectangle out.
  
  
• Cut a piece of poster board to the same size as your Mona Lisa artwork. Apply glue stick to the back of the picture and apply it the one side of the poster board. Turn the poster board over and glue your message onto this side. Stick a postage stamp onto your postcard and drop it in a mailbox.
