Enochian Work

The material on this page is the result of an ongoing project in the Enochian system -- a round of Aethyr scryings.  I have made these available largely because there is a noticable lack of material from people describing their experiences with the Aethyrs.

These accounts are taken from my notebooks and include descriptions of visions as well as notes I made afterwards.  This way, the reader will be able to glimpse into my emotional and mental reactions to these results as well as the effects the workings had on me.

Some readers will certainly be interested in the methods I use for scrying.  I work alone, so I am my own scribe, operator, and scryer.  Scrying for me means "astral vision," which is something I learned intuitively during my early teens: I close my eyes and unfetter my mind.  The method is not foolproof and I must constantly be on guard for conscious and unconscious editing of vision. Visions are usually recorded afterward, though occasionally I will write during, particularly if I am hearing or seeing something with specific detail that I want to capture.  If this happens, I will commonly keep my eyes closed while writing.  Most visions are quite clear, with the exception of words and symbols.

Occasionally I will use automatic writing, particularly during evocations.  While doing this, again, I must be wary of conscious and unconscious editing.

I use the ritual described briefly in the Magick section of my home page, except that I use the Enochian "Banner Names" of God instead of the Qabalistic archangel names.  Occasionally I will use Hebrew God names as appropriate to purify the atmosphere and "ground" myself but more often will use strictly Enochian God names.

Also, before beginning work in a new Aethyr I construct a talisman on paper for that Aethyr, using a method that I developed shortly after my work in LIL in January-February 1999.  Following is the talisman I made for TEX.  Talismans for other Aethyrs are similar except that I've used a triangle instead of a square (as the other Aethyrs have only three Parts of the Earth each), and the Banner Names facing up are those which correspond with the names of the Aethyr's Parts of the Earth (judging by the location of their sigils on the Watchtower Tablets).  The emblems for the four tables which I've used here were given to me by New Orleans Enochian mage Raven's Star; my use of them is experimental.
