The
Irsfeld / Engeln Branch
(page is being reworked at this time)
Irsfeld ~ Meaning- "
First Field"
The Irsfeld's lived for at least 3 generations in Schoenecken,
Germany, located in
Rhineland-Pfalz .Schoenecken is a village
of a few thousand people located four
miles southeast of Pruem; one mile south
of Schoenecken is the small village
of Wetteldorf, the
location of the Old Parish of Wetteldorf. Several of the Irsfeld's
ancestor's are buried here.. One mile to the east
is the Hamlet of Irsfelderhof,
a place that the early Irsfelds probably originated. Early church
records refer to it as
Irsfeld. The surname Engeln is also found in the town of Schoenecken
but as of yet
no connection with our Engeln line has been found
here.
