Ambigrams-Wonders of Mathematical/Visual Symmetry

Ambigrams are writings that can be read in more than one way: Ambi- means "both" and -gram means "writing". Typically you can read them right-side up or up-side down; or, mathematically speaking, they have 180 degree rotational symmetry. Other types have multiple words in the same space. I first encountered ambigrams after reading the Dan Brown novel, "Angels and Demons". I am enthralled by ambigrams as an art-form, as they combine creativity, pattern recognition, and mathematical symmetry. Each ambigram seems to have it's own unique character.

In Dan Brown's book, Angels & Demons, he makes ambigrams seem like these almost mystical writings that are almost beyond comprehension.
I agree that they are really cool, and John Langdon did an excellent job for the book.
