SeaPhoto Sample Photos

Our photo sets fall into four broad categories - those taken onboard, pictures shot from an adjacent vessel or structure,  photographs taken from the pier or shore, and, our specialty, overhead views.  Clicking on any of the samples below will lead to a page that has  additional excerpts from an actual SeaPhoto photo set.

Please note that, even when you click on a large photo, that the actual SeaPhoto prints will be sharper and much more detailed!

Onboard Photography

For the researcher and model maker looking for the ultimate, nuts and bolts photography, our onboard sets can't be beat.  We take mulitple photographs in a given area to capture weapons, structures and fittings from different angles, to help you see just how they look by themselves and in relation to one another.  From deck plank details to gun turrets, these are the sets that large scale modelers find invaluable

Photos taken from Adjacent ships and structures

Often we get a chance to take pictures from, for example, an aircraft carrier, looking down on upon a  smaller ship, such as a destroyer.  When we do, it is an opportunity to capture details hard to get from other angles.

Photos taken from pier or shore

These can be useful both to get an overview of a ship - we often shoot a mosaic of shots from a constant paralell line so that the photos can be pieced together to form a larger picture of the ship.  Often, using a long lens, we can take details from the pier at a flatter angle which results in a clearer view of a particular part or section of a ship.

Photos taken from above

The most popular photos we offer are those taken from above the subject.  These are useful to modelers of various scales, from 1/1200 to the largest radio control sizes.  The San Francisco Bay area is one of the few sites in the US where you can walk onto a bridge that Naval ships pass under.  This vantage point allows some extrordinary views, as you will see here.
